Launch Email Sequence
You want results. So let’s look at how I, as a copywriter, wrote launch copy to help this art teacher grow her summer camp attendance 4x the previous year.
She was doubling the price of her week-long art camp from the previous year and was worried that families wouldn’t sign up.
I kept the messaging personal, light-hearted, and valuable. I also made sure she reached out to parents sooner. I gave these mostly warm leads extra time and several reminders in case they were on the fence about signing up. The first email contained clear pricing and dates.
Follow-up emails, at regular intervals, captured the personality and heart behind these camps. The revealed theme created intrigue, and her personal testimony emotionally appealed to readers. All messaging included clear calls to action.
The customer experience was most important. Immediate thank-you messaging with a personal touch made sure families knew they were valued, so she could maintain a relationship for years to come.
Here’s a peek at the full copy:

SUBJECT: Pop-Up Art Camp is Back!
Hi <FNAME>,
I'm so grateful to have had the chance to have <child’s name> in art [session enrolled], so I wanted to make sure you were one of the first to know Pop-Up Art Camp is back! And I’ve added sessions so that you can choose which week works best for you.
Summer means fun in the sun and time together as a family. It also means you have long days to fill and children to entertain. A couple of weeks in, the excitement has worn off, the kids are complaining that they’re bored, your pantry looks bare, and you’re ready for a routine. Your future self is gonna be so glad you made plans!
😎 Good Vibes Only Summer Art Camp 😎

Session 1: June 17th - June 20th
Session 2: July 15th - July 18th
9-12 year olds

Camp takes place at my home from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, Monday through Thursday.

Pop-Up Art Camps are all about experiencing art through Exposure, Exploration, and Enchantment.
Young artists get to practice using different art materials and fun techniques to create several age-appropriate projects. And camp wouldn’t be complete without our beloved process art and sensory activities! Avoid having to buy the supplies and manage the mess. 😅

Hey <FNAME>,
I wrote a little something silly…here ya go:
✌🏻Good Vibes (a haiku) ✌🏻
High fives. Peace. Laughter.
Give me all those good, good vibes.
Gracious. Joyful. Free.
We could all use a little more sunshine. A little more joy. A little more playfulness and fun. To relax and try something new. That’s what this summer’s Pop-Up Art Camp is all about. Expect to feel a bit of nostalgia if you're from what the kids call "the late 1900s." 😲😉
Artist spots are limited in each session, so make sure to [“REGISTER TODAY” LINK]

Follow-Up Email 2 (sent 3 weeks before 1st camp)
Hi <FNAME>,
Preparing for this summer's art camps brings back special memories. Do you remember the summer of 2021? It was a strange time in the world.
As a community, we started to gather together more. We were still being careful, but hoping to experience a somewhat “normal” summer once again. I, myself, was determined to keep my promise to S.J. – to live and pursue my dreams, despite any fear. To notice beauty when everything seemed so dark.
So in July 2021, I began hosting Pop-Up Art Camp. Seven 5- to 8-year-olds joined me in my carport. And we ended up having a ball together!
We read picture books and made artwork to go with them.
We played with watercolors, oil and chalk pastels, and polymer clay.
We drew self-portraits and created a collaborative mural.
We learned how to create custom paint colors and got messy with our sensory bins filled with oobleck and shaving cream.
We danced to “I’m a Gummy Bear” and played Simon Says during snack time.
I’m still amazed at what we accomplished in just a few hours each morning. And on the last day, we had the most beautiful display of the children’s artwork. Their faces beamed with pride as they told their parents about each project.
Every year since, I’ve tried to remember what made that year special. To keep things simple. And remember to focus on the process of creating over the results. To make sure play and exploration lead the way.
I’m thankful for the growth and refinement that comes with each new year. And I’m thankful for you families who entrust your children to me for a week each summer. It’s a highlight of my year, for sure.
Because our 5-8 year old spots sold out so quickly, I’m adding another set of dates for those ages. If you know someone who would enjoy joining us this summer, please share this [“Summer 2024 Pop-Up Art Camp Flyer” LINK] with them.
💜Much love,

P.S. And if you haven’t registered yet, it’s not too late! Get the details here and fill out this [“REGISTRATION FORM” LINK] to save your spot!

SUBJECT LINE: Thank You for Signing Up for Pop-Up Art Camp 2024
I am so happy that your child will be joining us for Pop-Up Art Camp this summer. It’s hard to believe that this will be our 3rd year of summer camp. Our artists LOVE camp. And honestly, so do I. It’s such a great way to experience a wide variety of art materials and techniques. At camp, it’s all about the joy and process of creating.
Thank you again! Keep a lookout for email reminders and a couple of others that will give you a sneak peek of what our week of camp will look like. Don’t forget, a $40 deposit is due before camp begins to hold your spot.
💜 Much love,

Reminder Text (sent 1 week before camp — FAQ email to follow)
Pop-Up Art Camp is ONE WEEK AWAY! 🥳 I’m looking forward to seeing <NAME> on [DATES]. Camp starts at 9 am. {Just a reminder that the remaining $80 is due then.} OR {I’ve received your registration form and payment, so you’re all set.}
Please check your email for extra details so you and your artist will be ready for a fun-filled week.
FAQ Email (sent 1 week before camp starts)
Since the first week of camp is a week away, I wanted to answer the questions I get most often. Are you a planner or do you like to just ‘wing it?” Is it possible to be both?? I have to admit, I love making plans, but then I completely forget what’s happening before long😅.

What time should I drop off my child? When do I pick them up?
Camp starts at 9 am. Drop-off is between 8:50 and 9:00 am.
Camp ends at noon each day.
Thursday, we will have an art show set up for parents to view. So if you can, plan to stick around for an additional 15-30 minutes.
Can I have my mom/aunt/cousin/neighbor pick them up?
Only people listed on your child’s registration form may pick up your child. If needed, you may add a name and contact number at drop-off.
Where is camp?
This camp takes place at my home.
My address is [ADDRESS]
We’ll spend time indoors at my dining table and outdoors in the backyard and carport.
Do you have pets?
We have one dog and two guinea pigs. The dog will be locked in my room and will not interact with campers. The guinea pigs are caged. Occasionally, if everyone is comfortable, we allow campers to feed and pet the guinea pigs.
What should my child wear?
Comfortable clothing that would be okay to get messy in.
Do I need to pack a snack?
Please send them with a labeled bottle of water.
I provide fruit, a small packaged snack, and juice boxes.
I am always as mindful and accommodating as possible toward allergies.
My child is shy. Will they feel comfortable at camp?
You know your child best. Trust your gut.
Class sizes are small. Each session is limited to 6 artists.
I try to vary the energy level throughout the morning — times of high energy and excitement followed by more peaceful, calm times.
What skill level does my child need to feel successful at art camp?
Your child doesn’t need any formal art experience to enjoy their time at camp. I focus on the process of creating art as much as possible without putting too much emphasis on the final product. It’s all about experience and exposure.
All ages need basic cutting and pasting skills and the ability to follow simple instructions.
My child is sick and can’t make/finish camp. Can I get a refund?
Once camp has started, there are no refunds.
If you must cancel before camp begins, you may receive a refund minus the $40 supply fee.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please contact me at [PHONE NUMBER].
😎 Much love,
